The Opportunity

This is an exciting time at NetHope as the organization develops programs and services in collaboration with Members and partners. Working directly with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Project Manager will deliver and coordinate projects of varying size and complexity for NetHope, its global NGO Members, and technology partners. The Project Manager will work advance a portfolio of projects for NetHope’s Center for the Digital Nonprofit.

Project Manager

NetHope is seeking an experienced, organized, and enthusiastic Project Manager in the areas of emerging technologies, digital inclusion, data and information management, connectivity and infrastructure, digital protection of children, climate change, and digital skills. The Project Manager will be responsible for directing, organizing, and controlling project activities. This position is responsible for accomplishing project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities, and coordinating staff and subcontractors, and ensuring quality output is delivered on all projects. The Project Manager ensures that NetHope’s Program Managers and stakeholders are efficiently coordinated so that projects are delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner, with precise adherence to donor restrictions, and with excellent communications to relevant stakeholders.

Specific responsibilities include:

Program Development

· Organize stakeholder meetings and assist with determination of project requirements.

· Assist the SLT and Program Managers in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, RFP’s, tenders, budgets, cash flows, and deliverable schedules.

· Manage creation of schedules, budgets, and scope for projects.

Project Management

· Organize the setup, curation and maintenance of project and project-tracking information in relevant systems, including tracking the progress, deliverables, and quality of work being performed.

· Monitor project’s plans, work hours, budgets, expenditures, and external stakeholder engagement.

· Manage and communicate schedule, deliverables, budget, changes to scope, quality assurance, and issues with appropriate stakeholders to foster efficiency, accountability, and transparency through appropriate communication channels.

· Monitor budgets and budget allowances and resolve issues with Program Managers.

· Proactively identify and drive resolution of any issues by involving stakeholders.

· Manage and communicate variances between planned and actual delivery.

· Review contracts and authorize payments for project purchase orders.

· Work with the team to create automations, common processes, and continuous improvement to NetHope’s project and program management practices.

Reporting and Communication

· Prepare agenda and hold regularly scheduled meetings with stakeholders such as Program Managers, contractors, Members, and partners.

· Prepare project documentation and communications, including charts, reports, and presentations throughout the project lifecycle.

· Work with the communications team to commission blogs, social media, and other creative assets for the project from relevant stakeholders.

· Ease of working across functional areas and with stakeholders at all levels of the organization

· Knowledge of emerging technologies, digital inclusion, data and information management, connectivity and infrastructure, digital protection of children, climate change, and digital skills a plus.

· Experience using Asana to manage projects

· Multilingual verbal and written communication skills a plus

Education and Experience

· Minimum 4 years project management experience

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred or equivalent work experience

· NetHope Member experience highly valued, other NGO experience a plus

· NetHope uses a variety of technology to facilitate our work. You can expect to use Salesforce, Asana, Slack, Miro, Zoom and Microsoft Office extensively. Of course we will provide orientation to these and others, but a high level of literacy in similar tools is a plus.

Reporting and Working Conditions:

· This is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Director of the Center for the Digital Nonprofit and works closely with others in the Senior Leadership Team and program managers.

· NetHope is a virtual organization, so our team, our Members, and our Partners are located around the world. Due to the global nature of the organization, meetings may thus be required at any time of the day to meet with our stakeholders in varying time zones. To meet these needs, NetHope embraces flexible schedules for team members, and we work with each other to be located globally, but still maintain a reasonable work time balance.

· This position is 100% remote and virtual. International or domestic travel may be required for one to two NetHope events annually.
