The Role:

This is a great opportunity for an Internal Communications Officer who wants to help people harness their own power to achieve a feminist, just, green transition in the 45 countries where ActionAid works.

You will be responsible for designing and delivering strategic internal communications across ActionAid International. You will support the Secretary General (SG), International Leadership Team (ILT) and SG Liaison Lead in ensuring Board, staff and stakeholders are informed of decisions and developments and promoting two-way communications and democratic participation. You will have overall responsibility for the curation, information architecture and user interface of ActionAid International’s (AAI’s ) SharePoint intranet.

Who we’re looking for:

With substantial experience in in a similar role preferably in a multi-country setting, you should also have demonstratable experience in the areas of internal organisational communications and information management in an international setting and/or a highly distributed organisation; experience and excellent skills in communications technology (specifically SharePoint and other Office 365 collaboration tools); you should also have experience in supporting senior leaders and Board members

You should be a clear, vivid and succinct writer with Skills in SharePoint site design and administration. You should be able to produce infographics and other visuals using off-the-shelf tools; Highly organised but flexible, able to prioritise and re-prioritise and manage own workload under time pressure with minimal guidance, with an ability to manage sensitive and/or confidential information. You should be enthusiastic about assisting people get access to information and communicate more effectively. You should have excellent communication and people skills with the ability to build strong relationships across cultures and geographies (including remotely) and influence various levels of the organisation through persuasion and negotiation. As a key member of the SG’s team you should consistently models feminist leadership behaviour and values.
