We Are Looking for: PROJECT MANAGER

Department: Information Systems

Direct Manager: Head of Information Systems Department

Functional Manager: Head of Information Systems Department (might evolve according to the internal organizational structure)

Working %: 100%

Position Based in: Abidjan

Type of Contract: Fixed-Term Renewable

Position to be filled: As Soon As Possible

Objectives

Ensure all projects within the Information systems portfolio are successfully delivered within cost and on time.

Main responsibilities / Activities

  • Lead the planning and implementation of project.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Develop full scale project plans.
  • Manage project budget and project resource allocation.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Project evaluations and assessment of results

Job requirements

Education / Qualification / Pre-requisites

  • Experience with using industry standard Project Management tools such as JIRA, MS Projects or similar.
  • PMP, PRINCE2 or similar certification in Project management path

Competencies Skills

  • Strong understanding of IT projects – especially in large scale Information systems roll out
  • Analytical and critical thinking
  • Problem solving approach.
  • Negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex and technical ideas in a way that is easy to understand by non-technical audiences.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Communication skills with effective stakeholder management & conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and to collaborate across departments and geographic locations
  • Ability to work in a multi culture multi lingual environment

Professional experience required

  • 2-3 year experience leading high visibility projects focused on Information systems and related technologies

Languages Skills

  • Fluency in French or English and capable of communicating professionally in the other

(According to the coordination responsibilities of the position in both French and English-speaking countries, the hired person must be able to easily communicate in both languages.)

Computer Skills

  • Project Management tools such as JIRA, MS Projects or similar.
  • M365 applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etcetera
  • Creating reports and dashboards using standard tools – Power BI, Tableau or similar
