ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Under the supervision of the MENA Senior Program Officer, the MENA Program Officer performs high level tasks and directly manages at least one Internews project with fiscal oversight of the program. In addition, the Program Officer supports other programs within the Program Unit.

You’re an ideal candidate for this position if you have extraordinary attention to detail and organizational capacity; great written and oral communication skills; a love for keeping things moving and on track; a voracious desire to learn; and the desire to help protect human rights defenders, journalists, and marginalized people around the world. We work hard, laugh easily, and cheer each other on.

LOGISTICS

Internews has US offices in Arcata, CA and Washington, DC which support a hybrid workforce with staff working remotely, fully in-office or partially remote. Ultimately this position may work fully remote; candidates based in or near Washington, DC will have the option to work from the DC office. You must have independent work authorization in your location that does not require sponsorship from Internews.

Wherever possible, we work to try to find solutions for international hiring that work for both the company and the candidate. This means that some of the particulars around the offer for a role will be dependent on several factors, and that the benefits and salary structure that apply to a position will ultimately be based upon the candidate’s location and where the role is hired.

This position has a closing date of April 15, 2022.
