Fundraiser/Campaign Coordinator and Social Media Manager At Asylum Seekers Information Services Team


The Fundraiser/Campaign and Social Media Manager is responsible for raising money and other kinds of donations for A.Ss.I.S.T. to plan and oversee campaigns. S/he ensures that campaigns are effective by researching potential donors ahead of time and examining records of those who have given in the past. A.Ss.I.S.T. relies heavily on donations in order to run their operations.

The objective of this position is to increase the visibility of the Organisation in social media and endeavour to establish a secure funding base assuring the continuation of our services; and to raise awareness of our services and to build relationships with donors and sponsors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research prospective donors.
  • Create a strong fundraising message that appeals to potential donors.
  • Continue to develop A.Ss.I.S.T. fundraising strategies.
  • Identify and contact potential donors.
  • Organize a campaign (or events) that will lead to soliciting donations.
  • Maintain and continue the development of donor records
  • Evaluate the success of previous fundraising events.
  • Train volunteers in fundraising procedures and practices.
  • Ensure that all legal reporting requirements are satisfied.
  • Create email campaigns in line with A.Ss.I.S.T’s fundraising strategy.
  • Implement A.Ss.I.S.T’s social media strategy adapting it and the social media content accordingly.
  • Update A.Ss.I.S.T’s website in view of maximising donations.
  • Other duties as requested.

Essential Skills & Proficiencies:

  • Tertiary qualification in business or communications is highly regarded.
  • Proven success in fund-raising for nonprofits is highly regarded.
  • Shares values of A.Ss.I.S.T. and possesses a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Strong initiative and experience of working effectively in a cross-cultural environment.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy: experience and competence in diverse computer programs, social media and analytical tools.
  • Experience in content creation.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive critical thinking, and responsible decision-making and problem-solving. **

Minimum of 1 month with the Team in Chios and in Athens to ensure in-depth understanding of our work and funding requirements. Potential to continue volunteering with A.Ss.I.S.T. in either location or remotely.
