The Communications Specialist would be part of our LATAM office as a parttime consultant. The individual should be highly professional, passionate about social and environmental justice,and motivated by working with, and for, supply chains that are good for nature and people. The Communications Specialist will support the LATAM region in leading the design, implementation and monitoring of a communication plan for Earthworm’s projects in different countries within Latin America (Mexico, Guatemala, Dominican Republic,Ecuador, Peru and Colombia).

Key responsibilities
The consultant will support EF by leading the design and implementation of a communication plan for its projects
in Latin America.
In close coordination with the Latam Head and Project Managers, in Ecuador, Perú and Mexico, she/he will perform
the following functions:

 Develop a communication plan for the year 2022, in coordination with Regional Leaders, Project Managers,
and the Global Communications team.
 Lead the implementation of the 2022 Communication Plan
 Design internal communications, press releases and newsletters
 Lead the subcontracting of local communicators to contribute to the development of communication tools
defined in the action plan
 Collaborate with local communication consultants
 Guide EF’s technical teams so that they contribute to the development of communication pieces (photos,
texts, interviews, etc).
 Coordinate activities with EF’s global communication team to ensure alignment, collaboration and
feedback.

Requirements – Candidate Profile Minimum Qualifications
 Minimum three years of relevant professional experience
 Bachelor degree or higher in Communications, Social Communication, Communication for Development,
Journalism, or similar
 Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with people from
diverse disciplines, cultures and backgrounds
 Work experience with multilateral organizations and international cooperation
 Fluency in English and Spanish
 Basic understanding of social media, graphic design and audiovisual communication, advanced knowledge
a plus
 Complementary training in Communication for Development (desirable)
 Excellent organizational and soft skills to work with the rest of EF team.
 Responsible, organized, honest, disciplined and committed person with work, with high capacity for
teamwork, collaborative;

Personal characteristics and abilities:
 Strong interest in social projects.
 Excellent written communication skills.

Language:
 Spanish fluency (native)
 English professional proficiency (oral & written)

Working conditions / Physical effort:
 Remote (based in Mexico, Ecuador or Peru)
 Availability to travel eventually within LATAM
 Temporary, half-time position (consultancy of 10 months).
 Coordinate work with the Head Latam, and Latam Project Managers.
 Work in-person and via phone and email with EF global teams.
