Salary and grade: Grade 5: £23,000 – £32,000

Hours: Permanent contract; 37.5 hrs per week. Flexible hours considered

Location: Homeworking or ShelterBox Head Office, Truro, Cornwall

Role purpose:

The Rotary International (RI) and Rotary in Great Britain and Ireland (RGBI) relationships offers substantial income opportunities but also some of the best networks globally, helping us raise awareness, improve in country delivery and obtain greater understanding of the challenges the world faces over the next few decades.

This Rotary Marketing Officer is a key player in the development and delivery of the RGBI engagement plan which aims to drive income growth and development of meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with Rotary. Through the delivery of the RGBI plan, they will lead on marketing, communications and project delivery to increase the number of Rotary Clubs and Districts that engage with ShelterBox.

Who are we looking for?

ShelterBox is seeking a driven Rotary Marketing Officer to support the Rotary family across Great Britain and Ireland. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and be confident in developing resources and supporter communications. Being able to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently and being able to work effectively as part of a wider team are also key.

It is important that you have a working knowledge and understanding of marketing and communication principles, alongside comprehensive project management experience. You should also have an ability to focus on both long and short-term objectives.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Work with the Community & Events Manager and Rotary Marketing Officer to develop and implement a targeted RGBI engagement and communications plan
  • Lead the development and delivery of a RGBI marketing and communications plan, identifying opportunities to create inspiring touch points. To include development of content for appeals, newsletters, adverts, articles, social media etc
  • Review, develop and implement an appropriate recognition scheme in line with other international affiliate Rotary fundraising models
  • Develop and roll out engagement and fundraising products aimed at a Rotary audience such as Friends of ShelterBox and Warehouse Challenge
  • Project management of ShelterBox attendance at Rotary conference and events, including event messaging, design and logistics.
  • Work closely with Rotary Partnership Manager to ensure Rotary branding and communications is in line with project partnership agreement and a compliant approach is taken throughout the organisation
  • Help develop ways to better capture, acknowledge and celebrate club level activity across Great Britain and Ireland
  • Develop, manage and maintain administrative systems and processes underpinning the plan, including establishing regular reporting and monitoring functions to report against KPIs and budget
  • Ensure collaboration and cross promotion of key fundraising activities and campaigns

General duties:

  • Provide support and best practise guidance to junior team members as required
  • Produce detailed annual action plans and evaluations on specific areas of responsibility, identifying areas for growth/development and outlining measurable objectives.
  • Objectively review the success and achievements against agreed targets, identifying strengths, weaknesses and areas for development
  • Contribute new ideas and continually seek to improve processes to drive efficiency and increase income.
  • Participate in the day-to-day work of the organisation – such as reporting, attending team meetings as required, and taking a flexible approach
  • Represent ShelterBox at supporter/public events, delivering presentations where necessary.
  • Keep community fundraising sector knowledge current and share learnings with the team
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary to support the Community Fundraising Team
