We are looking for a Chief Mechanic & Trainer to serve in our Ajuong Thok, South Sudan office. If you are someone that enjoys repairing vehicles, heavy equipment, and generators, then this is the job for you! You will have the opportunity to train others in this field and be able to impact lives for the glory of God. As you support one of the specific programs being done in South Sudan through your technical mechanical skills, you will also be stewarding resources to protect the work and the mission to help in Jesus name.

A day in the life of a Chief Mechanic & Trainer:

In the role of Chief Mechanic and Trainer, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him
  • Manage and oversee the mechanical maintenance and repair operations for the field offices
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and equipment and orders new items as needed
  • Maintain safety protocols and upkeep of safety logs
  • Conduct electrical, body building, and mechanical work.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree/diploma in Automotive Engineering, final craft certificate/grade 1 motor vehicle or plant mechanic, and a minimum of three (3) years of experience
  • Thorough technical knowledge and expertise in mechanical systems and equipment, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Ability to read, analyze, and creatively problem solve
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • 12 credit hours of college-level Biblical Studies; if not already completed, opportunity to meet and complete requirement is available upon hire

Language Requirement: Fluency in English (required)

Accompaniment: Unaccompanied

Travel Expectations: Required travel documents and vaccinations for entry into foreign countries will be necessary
