Budget & Programming Assistant, G5 & SC5 – 2 Positions

Under the overall supervision of the Budget and Programming Officer responsible for Funds Management and Budget Initiatives, the staff member will be required to perform the following duties.

  • With the aim of supporting Country Offices in the region for efficient funds utilization, ensure all unassigned resources are programmed in line with WFP rules and regulations and donor conditions.
  • Through WINGS and other reports platforms under Budget and Programming tracks, download and export relevant reports for financial analysis purpose.
  • To interpret, evaluate data and develop integrated analyses to support strategic decision-making in funding requirements, provide/update related reports.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  •  A minimum of post-secondary certificate/diploma in finance, mathematics, statistics or related fields.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in the above fields is desirable.

Experience:

  • 5 years work experience in financial analysis, supply chain, budgetary and resource management analysis or related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
  • Has assisted with the preparation of complex financial documents.
  • Has supported the performance of budget analyses.
  • Has contributed to the collection of pipeline data.

Language: 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proven analytical skills and ability to provide technical advice.
  • Sound judgment; demonstrated initiative and conceptual, planning, and organizational skills.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Support Country Offices budget planning, funds management in line with WFP approved guidelines.
  • Identify resource management related issues through regular monitoring and periodic in-depth analysis.
  • Support Country offices in using resource management tools such as budget, pipeline, and Management Plan templates.
  • Deliver resource management information as required.
  • Assist in processing and managing routine administrative unit tasks.
