Language Services Partner Coordinator (Roster) At Translators without Borders

Salary range: 3,200-3,800 USD/month

The role

The LS Partner Coordinator is responsible for managing the relationship with TWB language service partner organizations. Working closely with the Operations Team and the Partnership Sales Teams, the LS Partner Coordinator manages expectations and ensures that language services are delivered in a timely manner and with the right levels of quality. Reporting to LS Programs or Partnership Coordinator.

Partnership/Relationship Management

  • Manage and grow the relationships with NGO partners either directly or in collaboration with other internal stakeholders
  • Communicate regularly with assigned partners, ensure expectations are met and monitor levels of overall satisfaction
  • Engage proactively and identify areas of improvement including workflows, services and languages to increase awareness of the importance of language and amplify the impact of the organizations’ work

Language Service Project Management

  • Manage the entire life-cycle of multiple language service projects including planning and scheduling for complex projects
  • Coordinate all the project phases and efficiently predict the lifespan of all the stages of the project
  • Work with the community outreach team to anticipate future needs and ensure sufficient capacity according to available forecasts
  • Collaborate with the Community Team to ensure existing volunteers are engaged
  • Negotiate deadlines with translators
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with translators and revisers globally
  • Monitor and control the status of projects

Quality assurance

  • Work together with the Quality & Process Coordinator to ensure partners receive appropriate quality levels
  • Comply with relevant and applicable procedures for quality assurance
  • Perform quality checks at various stages of process to ensure quality and accuracy (proofreading, final eye)

Team Coordination

  • Coordinate additional Project Officers and/or Project Management interns
  • Provide training and guidance on TWB systems, procedures and processes
  • Assign tasks by reconciling available capacity with the priorities of the team

Team Building

  • Report on team metrics accurately and in a timely manner
  • Work within the language service team and wider organization to build cross-team coherency
  • Participate in organization-wide discussions, contributing actively
  • Reliably and actively collaborate with colleagues towards the achievements of the team

Qualifications

The LS Partner Coordinator should be enthusiastic about the importance of increasing access to knowledge through language. The right candidate is an energetic team player and leader who agrees with TWB´s basic beliefs and values and who can work virtually with team members based throughout the world.

  • Able to innovate to find creative solutions; willing to explore new technologies
  • Resourceful, able to get more out of small budgets
  • Experienced team leader with the ability to manage a remote team
  • Experienced project manager
  • Experienced managing volunteers
  • Previous experience with nonprofit organizations, particularly in disaster relief
  • Strong writing and verbal skills

Requirements

  • +3 years of experience as a language services project manager
  • Experience in relationship and/or account management
  • Familiarity with the translation, language or content industries required
  • Humanitarian or development experience desired
  • Demonstrated writing experience
  • Track record working with volunteers and small teams
  • Excellent English skills (other languages considered a plus)
