Role
The Operations Coordinator or Assistant is a support role to the General Manager (UK).
Responsible for implementation of daily and overall operational efficiencies of Kamara by
providing support to the GM, and thus to the organisation as a whole. The level (assistant or coordinator) will be discussed and agreed on the basis of experience.

Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Coordination and management of operations schedule, including anticipation and
    follow-up
  • Liaise with Project Coordinator and other support capacity roles for implementation of
    Kamara operational requirements (such as consultant briefing/debriefing, project set-up
    and close down)
  • Drafting and/or updating operational guidelines delegated
  • Implementation of and improvements to internal logistics
  • Support to GM in scheduling and monitoring projects
  • Additional project-facing support as the role develops
  • Standardise and harmonise operational processes to be user-friendly and maximise
    efficiency
    It is essential that candidates have:
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience
  • Strong organisational efficiency and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Problem-solving capacity and initiative (including knowing when to ask for help)
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel
  • English (spoken and written)
    The candidate must also have at least one of the following preferred experiences:
  • Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in fields with strong time-pressured logistical accountabilities (such as
    film/tv, events, field-based humanitarian or human rights in operational capacities)
  • Experience in designing or following project schedules
  • Writing skills
  • Other languages

Terms
An initial 1 year fixed-term consultancy (subject to standard probation and termination
provisions) with the potential to evolve into a full-time permanent position. Candidates resident
in the United Kingdom and Germany may be eligible for a permanent position from the outset.
We work remotely but meet regularly in London.
Remuneration will be commensurate to level of experience and an indicative range will be given
to those shortlisted. The overall range is $USD38-50K per annum equivalent, based on experience.
