Monitoring and Evaluation Assistant At African Christian Health Association Platform


Background

The Africa Christian Health Associations Platform (ACHAP) is a regional organization of Christian Health Associations and networks covering several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa established through a declaration of commitment by the 3rd Africa Christian Health Associations Biennial Conference held in Bagamoyo, Tanzania in January 2007. ACHAP brings together more than 40 national level faith-based networks providing services in 32 countries across Sub-Saharan Africa to share resources, establish technical working groups (TWGs), and provide ongoing training and technical assistance (TA) to its members. In addition, governments see ACHAP members as critical players and, in many African countries, partner with them to provide health support services, even to government facilities.

ACHAP is seeking to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Assistant to be responsible for monitoring operations of the Christian Health Associations (CHAs) and projects’ M&E system to support program management and accountability functions. He/she will contribute toward the relevance, effectiveness and efficiency of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) department at ACHAP.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Assist in coordinating across the available components of the CHAs and Project to ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS.
  2. Ensure proper filing of M&E documents including questionnaires, monitoring reports, datasets among others
  3. Assist the CHAs/Project teams in preparing of relevant reports
  4. Prepare and maintain organizational database
  5. Prepare Issues Log and Risk Log for the CHAs/project
  6. Assist CHAs, /project staff during survey planning and implementation especially preparing logistics needed.
  7. Take a key role in data collection Automation and participate in data collection and cleaning.
  8. Assist in development of data summaries to help the project teams in report writing.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· A Bachelors degree in Social Sciences, Information Technology, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related discipline with 1-2 years’ experience in M&E.

· Considerable experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection methods.

· Experience in designing tools and strategies for data collection, analysis, and production of reports.

· Proven ICT skills, especially in the development of MIS software using database software.

· Proven skill in phone-based data collection Applications e.g., ODK, RedCap etc.

· Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software.
